Profile: Arielle Joseph
Arielle Joseph of Ari J. Boutique believes that women by nature are an inspiring muse, and makes sure to keep elements of beauty, grace, and femininity in mind with her designs. To any and all creatives out there, she heeds the advice to continue to persevere.
“I’d say to never give up”, she says.“This is a very competitive industry and you’ll face many obstacles-- but stay focused, and most of all have fun. If you don’t love what you’re doing then you’re in the wrong profession.”
As an intern, Ms. Joseph learned the rails and ropes of design while working alongside a bridal designer. After graduating from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Fashion Design and Merchandising, Arielle Joseph launched her contemporary line in 2013. Ms. Joseph has been successful by having her line featured and available for purchase in her own boutique, as well as in Cozette’s Boutique, Cerulean Blu and All Brides To Be. She has been featured in Hope for Women’s Magazine, Elements Magazine, and also numerous fashion blogs and local newspapers sing her praises. You can even view her current collection HERE.
Her influences stem from that of successful women entrepreneurs such as Carolina Herrera and Diane von Furstenberg.
Today, the desire to look sexy means either you’re stick thin, or have all your curves in exactly the right places. The mission of Ari J. Boutique is simple; “...to emphasize on the essence of femininity with silhouettes that accentuate the beauty and individuality of a woman’s unique structure.”
“I realized that I can do anything I put my mind to”, says Arielle. “This is a new era, there are many women entrepreneurs and we can all make a difference and empower one another.”
When asked how her Haitian-American heritage has influenced her designs, Ms. Joseph states that she’s a bit conservative. She believes women can be sexy without showing all their “goodies”. Ms. Joseph designs beautiful clothing that is conservative but with an appropriate amount of sex appeal. Her interests in nature and architecture allow for her for her to create classic yet elegant designs.
“My white jumpsuits are my top sellers. I feel it’s the perfect statement piece for any occasion whether dressed up or dressed down”, said Joseph.
Ms. Joseph confesses that she is “obsessed” with fashion blogs and Youtubers. Some of her favorite fashion blogs include; the blog of Ranti Onayemi-Blanchard specifically for her point of view on style. Some Youtubers she follows include; Shameless Maya, and Alyssa Forever, “for their realness and beauty on the inside and out.”
Arielle says that these other female entrepreneurs are all “great examples of an Ari J woman; confident, real, [and] entrepreneurs not afraid to go after their dreams.”
